# WM Player Windows Install Guide

## Before You Install

WM Player is supplied as a Windows installer named:

`WM Player-0.9.1-pre-release-Windows-x64-Setup.exe`

The installer creates the WM Player application, Start Menu shortcut and Desktop shortcut. Customer settings, licence details, audio folders and logs are created in the user's Windows profile when the software first runs.

## Install WM Player

1. Download the WM Player Windows installer.
2. Double-click `WM Player-0.9.1-pre-release-Windows-x64-Setup.exe`.
3. If Windows SmartScreen appears, choose `More info`, then `Run anyway` if you trust the installer source.
4. Follow the installer prompts.
5. Leave the default install location unless your station or venue requires a different location.
6. When installation finishes, launch WM Player from the Desktop shortcut or Start Menu.

## First Launch

On first launch, WM Player starts as a clean customer installation.

You will need to enter your own:

- Licence code
- Audio folders
- Watched folder
- Recording folder
- Encoder and streaming details
- Audio device settings
- Clock Hour and playlist content

No Wrexham Media test licence, stream credentials, music library, local folder paths or development data are included in the customer installer.

## Licence Activation

If WM Player asks for a licence code:

1. Paste your activation code into the licence box.
2. Press the activation button.
3. If the code is valid and active, WM Player unlocks and opens normally.

## Audio Setup

After installation, open Settings and check:

- Programme output device
- Preview output device
- Microphone or line input device
- Encoder settings
- Recording location
- Watched folder location

Use Windows Sound Settings to confirm that your audio interface is connected and enabled.

## Updating WM Player

To install a newer version:

1. Close WM Player.
2. Run the newer WM Player Windows installer.
3. Follow the installer prompts.

Customer settings are stored in the user's Windows profile and are not bundled inside the installer.

## Uninstalling

Use Windows Settings:

1. Open `Settings`.
2. Choose `Apps`.
3. Find `WM Player`.
4. Select `Uninstall`.

Uninstalling the application does not automatically remove customer-created audio files or backups.

When contacting support, include:

- WM Player version
- Windows version
- Audio interface name
- Description of the issue
- Any visible error message

Do not send passwords or private stream credentials by email unless Wrexham Media support specifically requests a secure support package.
